The St. Vincent de Paul Hotel Gateway Shelter is a 220-bed facility that provides shelter and emergency assistance to homeless men, women and families during their period of crisis. The shelter is open 365 days a year. We provide:

  • Shelter in a clean, safe environment

  • A bed in a dormitory style setting. We also offer private rooms for families.

  • A shower and, if needed, personal care items and clothing

  • Dinner, breakfast and lunch

  • Case management services including referrals to other appropriate agencies or organizations and mental health intervention

  • Use of the Hotel's address and phone number for mail and messages
To receive services, new guests call in to register between 2:00 p.m.—3:00 p.m. Upon entry, Guests Attendants determine their needs and expected length of stay.

The Hotel works collaboratively with The Other Place, Dayton's daytime shelter which is located one block away. Both organizations' case management services work together to assist guests in returning to their rightful place in the community.
